About

Roberto Ferraracio is a Brazilian photographer whose work begins with observation rather than subject matter.

His photographs move freely between landscape, nature, streets, people and the small details that are easily overlooked. What connects them is not a particular genre, but curiosity — an interest in what happens when attention is allowed to linger a little longer.

Photography became part of a broader life shaped by making, building and looking closely. Rather than working toward a predetermined visual style, Ferraracio approaches each subject on its own terms, allowing recurring ideas, forms and ways of seeing to emerge through the work itself.

This approach is particularly present in Atlantic Rainforest, an ongoing body of work made within Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. The photographs resist the conventional grandeur of landscape photography, moving instead through darkness, water, vegetation, fragments of light and the experience of being physically immersed in the forest.

His broader photographic practice follows the same instinct: to remain attentive, curious and open to photographs that cannot always be anticipated — moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
